There’s nothing quite like wandering through fields of orange under crisp autumn skies, and pumpkin picking has become one of the county’s favourite seasonal traditions. From family-friendly farms to atmospheric pumpkin patches, here are some of the top “pick-your-own” spots to explore across Kent this autumn.


Beluncle Farm (Hoo, near Rochester)

This sustainable farm has been welcoming visitors to pick pumpkins and squash since 2010. Expect a Halloween shop, food stalls, fun photo ops — and plenty of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes.

Broadditch Farm (Gravesend)

A three-acre patch full of family fun: carve your pumpkins on site, explore a spooky forest trail, and wheelbarrow your picks.

Chartwell (Westerham)

While you can’t take a pumpkin home, Chartwell hosts a charming Playful Pumpkin Trail around the estate, with games, challenges, and a prize at the end.

Erriot Wood (Lynsted, near Sittingbourne)

A newer entry into Kent’s pumpkin scene, Erriot Wood returns this year with fields to explore, Halloween displays, and scarecrows galore.

Felderland Farm (Sandwich)

Pick your pumpkins, roam the grounds, and enjoy family-friendly features like playgrounds and straw bale climbs. On select dates, face painting adds extra fun.

Lower Ladysden Farm (Goudhurst)

A generous patch offering pumpkins, squash, and gourds in every hue. It’s perfect for decorative or culinary pumpkins alike.

Saffery Farm (Selling, near Faversham)

With over 30 years of pumpkin growing behind it, Saffery Farm is a local favourite. Pumpkins are priced by size, and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.

Sissinghurst Castle (Cranbrook)

For a touch of heritage with your pumpkin picking, Sissinghurst opens its vegetable patch for a short window. After you pick, join a pumpkin carving workshop in the picnic area.

Stanhill Farm (Dartford)

A long-running family favourite, this patch gives you a wheelbarrow to fill and plenty of space for a family photo.

Pumpkin Moon (Kent-wide, multiple sites)

Three patches across Kent (Rainham, Maidstone, Faversham) offer over 100 pumpkin varieties, mini mazes, autumn displays, and food stalls. Fancy dress is encouraged!

  • Dress for the weather & terrain: boots, layers, and a waterproof jacket go a long way.
