What's On in Kent This October? Local Events in Sittingbourne, Faversham and Beyond...
There's something rather special about Autumn in Kent. The changing colours of the countryside, crisp morning walks, pumpkin picking and the excitement of Halloween all make this a wonderful time of year to get out and explore our local area.
At Quealy & Co, we love where we live and work, and one of the things that makes Kent such a fantastic place to call home is the wonderful sense of community. From traditional local celebrations to family-friendly days out, there's always something happening just around the corner.
With October approaching and the half-term holidays on the horizon, we've rounded up some fantastic events taking place in and around Sittingbourne, Faversham and the surrounding areas.
Whether you're looking for a fun-filled family adventure, a spooky evening out or simply an excuse to enjoy the beautiful Kent countryside, there's plenty to look forward to this Autumn!
Brogdale Collections Apple Fair, Faversham
Saturday 3rd – Sunday 4th October 2026 | 10am – 4pm
If there's one thing Kent is famous for, it's our beautiful orchards, and what better way to celebrate the Autumn harvest than with a visit to Brogdale Collections in Faversham?
The annual Apple Fair is a wonderful opportunity to discover some of the rare and heritage apple varieties that you won't find in your local supermarket. Explore the orchards, enjoy apple tastings and learn more about the incredible variety of fruit grown right here in Kent.
Every adult ticket includes a free tote bag to fill with 4kg of hand-picked apples from the orchard, while the first 1,000 adult tickets also include a free Apple Recipe Book.
With guided orchard tours, apple displays, expert talks and children's activities, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Children under 16 can also attend for free!
Ghost Tours at The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Looking for something a little different this Halloween? Why not discover the darker side of Kent's maritime history with an atmospheric ghost tour at The Historic Dockyard Chatham?
These exclusive 90-minute, torch-lit tours take visitors into the historic Ropery complex after dark, where centuries of fascinating history meet tales of unexplained encounters and ghostly goings-on.
Led by experienced guides, you'll explore atmospheric buildings and hear stories passed down through generations of Dockyard workers.
It's a fantastic opportunity to experience one of Kent's most historic attractions in a completely different light, although perhaps not one for the faint-hearted!
Tours are suitable for adults aged 18 and over, and advance booking is required.
Pumpkin Picking at Pumpkin Moon, Rainham and Maidstone
10th – 11th, 17th – 18th and 21st – 31st October 2026
Nothing says Autumn quite like a trip to the pumpkin patch!
Pumpkin Moon is returning to its Rainham and Maidstone farms this October, offering families the chance to enjoy a traditional Autumn outing and choose their perfect pumpkins ready for Halloween.
With more than 100 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds to discover, there's something for everyone, whether you're searching for the perfect pumpkin to carve, something colourful for your Autumn decorations or a delicious squash for a seasonal recipe.
Enjoy wandering through the pumpkin fields, filling your wheelbarrow with your favourites and capturing a few lovely family photographs along the way.
Fancy dress is encouraged, so why not make a day of it and embrace the Halloween spirit?
Faversham Carnival
Saturday 17th October 2026 | From 6.30pm
One of the highlights of Faversham's community calendar returns this October, bringing colour, music and a wonderful atmosphere to the town centre.
Faversham Carnival is a fantastic opportunity for local residents to come together and celebrate everything that makes our community so special.
The illuminated procession will begin at Whitstable Road at 6.30pm, making its way through the town centre with colourful floats, carnival queens, music and entertainment from local organisations.
It's the perfect excuse to wrap up warm, head into town with family and friends and enjoy an evening supporting a much-loved local tradition.
Horrible Histories Halloween at Leeds Castle
Saturday 17th October – Sunday 1st November 2026
History is getting a spooky twist at Leeds Castle this Halloween, with Horrible Histories bringing its Silly Ghosts and Ghastly History adventure to one of Kent's most famous landmarks.
Perfect for families with curious young historians, this Halloween event invites visitors to explore the castle grounds while uncovering some of history's more unusual and entertaining stories.
Follow a special trail, take on ghostly challenges, discover tales of royal history and enjoy a range of interactive activities inspired by the castle's fascinating past.
With plenty of fun to be had throughout the grounds, it's a wonderful way to combine a family day out with a little history and Halloween excitement.
And, of course, Leeds Castle's beautiful gardens provide the perfect backdrop for an Autumn stroll while you're there.
Halloween Spooktacular at Kent Life
Saturday 24th October – Sunday 1st November 2026
If you're looking for a family-friendly Halloween adventure during the October half-term holidays, Kent Life has plenty of spooky fun in store!
The popular heritage farm park near Maidstone is hosting its Halloween Spooktacular, with a whole host of seasonal activities designed to keep little ones entertained.
Children can enjoy pumpkin carving and painting, explore the spooky house for some trick-or-treating fun and take part in daily fancy dress competitions.
With farm rides and plenty of Halloween activities to enjoy, it's a lovely way to spend a day together during the school holidays.

Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Woof Fest, Faversham
Saturday 31st October 2026 | 10am – 1pm
Halloween isn't just for humans, and this fantastic local event ensures our four-legged friends don't miss out on the fun!
Taking place at Faversham Recreation Ground, the Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Woof Fest invites local dog owners to dress up their furry companions and enjoy a morning of Halloween celebrations.
Expect some wonderfully creative costumes, plenty of wagging tails and a brilliant opportunity to meet fellow dog lovers from across the local community.
Alongside the fancy dress parade, there will be dog-related stalls, local businesses, charity stalls and plenty of opportunities to capture some memorable photographs.
Whether you're bringing your own dog or simply coming along to admire the costumes, it's a lovely way to spend Halloween morning and support a fun community event.
