wimbledon winners prize money vs property prices in england and wales infographic quealy estate agents

Wimbledon winnings in property terms!

The 134th Wimbledon Championships is underway and a suite of new champions are set to be crowned in a glorious weekend of sporting action! The team at Quealy & Co are certainly enjoying the tennis, but we couldn’t resist comparing the game to property prices. After all we are passionate about property in Sittingbourne!

While the average price of a property across England and Wales has risen by a whopping 10% since 2019, at £35 million the total prize pot for Wimbledon is 11% lower than it was in 2019.

If players seek to invest their money in property, their prize money goes a long way. All but 0.6% of property sales over the last year have been within the winners’ budget of £1.7 million.

Even for those exiting in the 4th round, 30% of the market across England and Wales sold within their £181,000 prize pot.
